Harvard China Review
The 11th Annual Conference

March 29th, 2008
Harvard University

Harvard China Review cordially invites you to our 11th annual conference, “Building Chinese Confidence,”
to be held on March 29th, 2008 at the Harvard Campus.

Confidence is the catch phrase of the season. China has once again proven itself to be a global giant by
making 2007 the year of the IPO. “Biggest ever” begins to lose meaning as Citic Bank, Fosun International,
and Alibaba.com list for billions of dollars on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange within months of each other.
How big can China get?

The year 2008 has finally arrived. Since winning the Olympic bid at the 112th IOC session in 2001, China’s
real estate, construction, infrastructure and service sectors have boomed in anticipation for the Beijing
Olympic Games. What now? As we contemplate post-Olympics prospects, confidence becomes integral as
we look ahead and plan for sustainable growth.

Can the CSI 300 beat resistance and break the 6,000 mark? Will China’s lead help Asia decouple from the
subprime worries of the United States? With stock market liquidity now exceeding that of Hong Kong, does
this equate to over-confidence? More importantly, can Vice-Premier Wu Yi, with her nationwide safety
campaign, regain and ultimately boost China’s global image as a quality manufacturer and service
provider?

As a team, we are confident about China’s prospects. This year HCR’s mission is to once again bring
together eminent speakers who will lead us in looking at China’s growth beyond the bubble, by exploring the
many ways we can build international confidence in the sustainability of our industries, economy and
environment. As we form our panels, we hope to channel an outlook on China’s innovation capability and its
ability to transform from a labor-intensive to knowledge–intensive nation.

Please join us in an exploration of China’s potential with world-class experts and engaging audiences. We
thank our returning sponsors and attendees for their continual support and hope that more will join us at the
11th HCR conference for an enlightening experience and the chance to tap an invaluable network built on a
common interest in China’s development.
